Guest Post :: Speak Now with Ellie

Today, we have a special guest visiting with us.  This young lady just turned Sweet Sixteen, yet her maturity goes beyond her years.  We met through one of the networking blog hops and I'm continually blown away by her passion for life and her drive to make a difference in the lives of her peers.
My name is Ellie and I blog at The Ellie Life
Over on that little corner of the internet I blog on faith, love, heartache, and personal endeavors.
Today I am not here to chat about The Ellie Life. Although, if you asked me to-I could all day.
Today-I am here to talk about something bigger than myself.

Six days ago I turned sixteen. It was in my fifteenth year that I pinpointed my highest highs and my lowest lows. In regards to life, love, school, relationships....or as I like to refer to it-"teenage stuff".
I struggled with body image issues, self esteem endeavors, and some other personal issues that defined me for a small dark period of my life. It was in this time period that I found what I am passionate about.

I started my advice column in December through my blog and have since answered over 2,300 questions in regards to "teenage stuff." About two months into this project I woke up in the middle of the night.
If people can come to me from across the globe with questions and concerns that seem to be universal what if there was a place created where they can go for advice day or night? What if they could collaborate and endure in an environment where asking questions, speaking out, and being heard didn't scare the average teenager half to death? What if tomorrow meant voice for a teenager who had never before been heard?

In regards to all these questions I have created Speak Now. Speak Now is a non-profit organization geared around young women empowerment. It is our mission to give voice to young women who have been silenced in fear of rejection. We have recently created a website that spreads advice, beliefs, and ideas on how to face even some of the hardest teenage stuff.

Speak Now hopes to fund enough money to create a safe house for teenage girls to come collaborate, educate, and inspire for themselves, for the community, and for each other. We a very new website but with each leap forward and each new supporter we plan to see this dream come to life.

Each supporter on our mission to a world full of young women advocacy and free of young women rejection is a step in our right direction. Visit us today to find out how to get involved and shed light to our growing cause in light of a growing issue.  I hope to hear from you soon!

Much love,
Ellie

  2. Awesome Post! Ellie seems to me wise beyond her years. Maybe she has an old soul.

I am heartened to know there are teenagers out there striving to make a positive impact on the world.

I believe in Ellie's cause. It is a shame we didn't have something like this back in the dark ages when I was a teenager :-)

Thank you for introducing this amazing young woman to us. Her cause is one worth fighting for.
