A week or so ago she reached out via Twitter looking for some bloggy help in getting the word out about this project. I'm always willing to help where I can. A day or so later, I started getting the e-mails explaining the details. It's pretty exciting and it was so obvious how self-less Ashley is! Here are a few of her own words: "As soon as I reveal this, it's no longer "my" project. It's ours. I can only accomplish so much being one person. I am grateful for your willingness and sweet hearts that want to give back and be involved in changing the world. And dang it, we're going to."
Pass It Forward was designed to get people to do everyday little things that will make an impact on the community around YOU. Pass it Forward is
designed around a card. Each card is given a unique ID number.

Here's a scenario of how it would work. Lets say I'm at
McDonalds, and I decide to pay for the person behind me in the drive
through. I'd give the cashier the card, and ask them to pass it along to
the next car when they give them their food. I would then go
home and log into the website that was on the card, and find my unique ID
number. I log into it, and add my information: first name, city, and a
description of what I did. Let's say the person behind me was you, you would pass it forward to
someone else, and then you would go home and do the same thing.
So, from the very
beginning, you will be able to track where your card goes, and how many
people you affected just by doing one simple act of kindness. Pretty exciting, isn't it? This project has the potential of working small miracles
in the lives of those we come in contact with, and we'll be able to see how far one
simple act can go. Ashley's desire is to grow the Shine Community into something that
is in every city, so that she can get more projects done and change more
lives. Won't you consider being a part of this change? For more details, visit Ashley at The Shine Project.

ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet idea! I once went for food, and when I got the window to pay I was told someone paid for a bunch of meals that day. It not only took me by surprise, but warmed my heart. Thanks for sharing.
