DIY Tutorial: Rose Petal Placemat

Hello lovely ladies! It's time to spread some love. I thought I would share a fun tutorial that is is red, full of personality and multi-functional. A rose petal (silk, of course) placemat or decorative piece for your sofa table, entry way, etc. Are you ready?

Photobucket

Let's start with supplies:  glue gun, glue sticks and [silk] rose petals and placemat.  The rose petals have been sitting in my basement over three years ago, so it was time to put them into crafty use {smile} and the placemat I picked up at Walmart for about a $1.

Alrighty, now that we have our supplies -- let's get this DIY Tutorial started.  Based on the picture below, you can approach the placement one of two ways.  You can place a line of glue on the mat, but you'll need to fairly quickly place the petals (see image one and two).  You could also just dot each petal and place (see image three).  However, the second is a little more tedious.  I went between the two.

Photobucket
You'll just keep placing the petals, row by row.

On the bottom row, you'll angle the petals a bit -- and, of course, after you're done can fill in any visible gaps or holes.  Voila!  You're done.  Above you saw it pictured being used as a place mat, here we see it used in a decorative manner.  I really don't decorate for Valentine's Day, but it does look rather nice pictured here.  The idea of serving your romantic Valentine's dinner on them is lovely as well.  Hugs and Kisses! Come party with me all this week at these par-tays!

I'd also like to bring you along to the party at the Dollhouse Bake Shoppe on Sunday, February 5th.  Click {here} for more information.  This tutorial/project will be featured!  Stop by and say hello.
